Jennifer Gold is a partner of Wood Gold LLP and practices Family Law and Wills.

She was called to the bar in 2002 and holds an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English and Psychology.  In 2021, she was appointed as a Dispute Resolution Officer for the Superior Court of Justice.  She serves as Past President of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Law Association of Ontario and as a Board Member of Pro Bono Ontario.  She was also appointed by the Government of Ontario to serve on the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Ontario where she chairs the Audit and Finance Committee.  She is a Central West Council Member of the Ontario Bar Association.  She is a former Board Member of North York Women’s Shelter.  Jennifer serves as a mentor to other lawyers through the Women’s Law Association of Ontario mentorship program and university students through York University’s Advancing Woman program.

Jennifer completed a Certificate in Family Mediation and the course, Indigenous Canada.  She has a settlement focused practice.  She is highly experienced in negotiating separation agreements, providing advice in complex Family Law matters, de-escalating conflict and representing clients in mediation and/or arbitration. 

By entering into partnership, Jennifer Gold and Frances Wood, sought to create an alternative to the traditional law firm and thereby achieve work-life balance and a diverse workplace.  Their efforts were noted by Carol Goar in her article for the Toronto Star entitled, “Women Create Family-Friendly Law Practice” and the Ontario Bar Association Podcast “Work that Works”.

Jennifer is the 2021 recipient of the Ontario Bar Association’s Award of Excellence in Promoting Women’s Equality and a 2017 recipient of the Lexpert Zenith Awards celebrating the advancement of women in the legal profession.

When Jennifer is not practicing law, managing a law firm, and engaging in service to her profession and community, she enjoys spending time with her family including her dog and two cats!
